In the present work we intend to make an approximation to a new methodological trend, in what is known as the return of history at long time scale, which enjoys a certain projection at an international level, but which in our country has hardly had repercussion: the Big History. It is not our intention to make a critical approach, but essentially to present its theoretical and methodological principles, to give an account of some of its limitations on which attention has been drawn and, finally, to show the possibilities that can be derived from an approach like this one, especially in the teaching field.
