This article deals with the historiographical production on Social Catholicism in the region of Castilla y León during the Contemporary Age. We emphasize the powerful beginning in the 70’s together with the historical significance which the Catholic Church’s social work has had in this territory, the subsequent decrease/decline in this production and the characteristic historiographical regression nowadays. The plentiful –even though unequalproduction on Social Catholicism in the 19th century contrasts with an important lack of literature on Social Catholicism during Franco’s regime in Spain,.) (but specially in Castilla y León). (and this is more significant in the provinces of Castilla León than in other regions).
