Abstract

Terrorism has been and keeps being a threat on a global level, a phenomenon which has struck hard, most specifically to several European countries and, among them, especially to Spain, through organizations such as ETA, and Italy, through the Red Brigades. This article, therefore, intends to analyze various Spanish and Italian fiction movies linked to those groups, to show and pursue further the traumatic visage of their legacy, in the victims, by all means, as well as the negative effect that they cause in their own militants. Cinema thus not just shows an excellent capacity to address, from its special visual narrative, this dark visage of their legacy, but is also useful for taking into consideration and becoming aware of their heart-breaking effect for the future.
