The Island of Cuba experienced a wide development from 1899 with the investments of the United States. Nevertheless, the economic crises unleashed in 1920, 1925 and 1929 stopped great part of the above mentioned growth, at par that should prepare new social, cultural and business lines inside islander happens. The economic Cuban evolution, his managerial characteristics and the repercussion of the crises recounted on the new company of that country, during the first thirty years of the 20th century, are the background of this investigation, providing to us, inside the analysis, many of the keys with the internal history of his society, the particular modernization that was unrolled in that territory, as well as the context of relations with the United States and with Spain.
