In the research that follows those pages, we analyse the development of the republicanism in a local level and into a social, economical and political adverse environment. This analysis wants to demonstrate the importance of the local action for republicanism because it was one of the few truly chances to implement the democratic ideas in a public sphere. The disputes for the local governments showed any type of political tactics used by the republicans, even so, if the last goal was to achieve the local institutions.
