This article aims to introduce the studies collected in this dossier and reviews the origins of body´s history and some issues from the perspective of sex and gender. There are several approaches that converge from the history of medicine to everyday life, in a wide range of theoretical and methodological achievements in which are decisive the feminist theories and Foucault´s influence.
