The "Princes of the century". Antiliberal models and stereotypes of monarchy in times of revolution (1810-1825)

The following paper studies and compares the monarchical models and stereotypes proposed by three antiliberal authors: Francisco Xavier Borrull, Friar Rafael de Vélez and Karl-Ludwig von Haller. They wrote from distinct territorial perspectives, historical periods and concerns, and demonstrate the plurality of antiliberalism. Their reflexions were of a diverse nature, but all of them attributed a prominent position to the Crown and to the king. The author maintains that the writings of these authors, in a moment of crisis and transformation, were as novel as those of their opponents.
