Study of the Crown effective power in the political process of the constitutional Monarchy during the reign of Isabel II. Analysis of the discourse and argumentation of two prominent exponents of Spanish political thought at that time, Jaime Balmes and Juan Donoso Cortés, as opposed to the possible transition from that constitutional Monarchy to a parliamentary Monarchy as a consequence of the regime practices of the two trusts, and their relation with the proposals of the authoritarian conservative alternative in its successive projects of political reform in front of the moderate liberal Monarchy of 1845 Constitution.
