The press remembers and pays homage to José Zorrilla in 1917

In 2017 it was commemorated the bicentenary of the birth of Jose Zorrilla, poet and playwright. This article seeks not only to study and analyze Jose Zorrilla from a current perspective, but also to understand how the poet was honored in 1917, date of the first centenary of his birth. To this end different newspapers are going to be studied: those which published a column or an article in his memory (La Acción or ABC, for instance), those in which he was remembered with a newspaper report (España) or those such us La Alhambra which decided to publish a whole issue to honor him.
