The Constitution threatened. Reactions to the coup of July 1822 in Vitoria, Burgos and Logroño

On July 7, 1822, the most important blow against constitutionalism prepared during the Liberal Triennium, was aborted by the national militia of Madrid. The reaction of liberalism was immediate and was not limited to the capital. His strength was evident throughout the country. Especially eloquent were the criticisms directed against Ferdinand VII, who was held responsible for his connivance with the coup and his passivity in the face of the events. This article studies the political and popular reactions that this destabilizing event provoked in three cities characterized by the different degree of implementation of liberalism despite their geographical proximity.
