Voluntary Associations in the Estado Novo in Portugal (1926-1974)

Present survey proposes a quantitative and qualitative synthesis of variation in the number of voluntary associations during the Portuguese Estado Novo, born on 28th May 1926 and deceased on 25th April 1974. Also it proposes quantitative valuations of voluntary associations following activity functional areas. It also sketches a qualitative analysis of the associative fact under the above mentioned Portuguese dictatorship. The survey uses secondary sources, partially unexploited official statistics and original research.
