Abstract

This paper reviews the unparliamentary literature that emerged in Italy in the late nineteenth century. Criticism to the parliamentary institution also came from liberal political circles. In Italy, after the Unification, a negative political language was formed around the Parliament. This devaluation had much to do with the strength of a national patriotic rhetoric.
