This paper studies some of the Pere Anguera’s most relevant and innovative contributions on the political catalinism of the 19th century, the use of the language and the construction and spreading of his different national symbols. Pere Anguera in the last three decades stirred the Catalan historiography and renewed the interpretation on the origin, characteristics and development of the first catalinism. In his last works he offers a new analysis on the national symbols.
