State and Nation in Spanish Monarchism

The construction of the contemporary State was done on the basis of a new concept arisen from the liberal culture: the nation. In the case of the Monarchy, the institution was necessary to adapt to the liberal State and the liberal State the Monarchy and the representation of the nation; but combining that at first it prunes to turn out to be incompatible. But the same liberal revolution was the moment to find in the Monarchy the sufficient utility to support it. How it was done, how they saw it progressive and moderate parties, liberal and conservative parties, and how evolution up to the current importance is what this article treats.
