Around the international order of the 21st century

This paper explain the main milestones of the current crisis in the multilateral system during the 2010-2020 decade. It is aware of themes that address questions that range from explaining economic uncertainty, and the trade war between the US and China; the performance of the BRICS countries, North American exceptionalism; and the resurgence of nationalisms and the emergence of illiberal democratic models, besides to the new conflicts of the 21st century, in a context of a global pandemic due to the effects of COVID-19. Aspects that we consider to analyze the state of contemporary multilateralism and its repercussions on global governance.
