Exile has become since at least the nineties of the twentieth century in a real matter of state, central reference democratic political culture of Spain, far more than the experience of anti-Francoism underground, due largely to the stigma of political violence. This includes use of exile, however, the political exile, who, in my opinion, was the focus of opposition to the Franco regime, especially until 1962.
