Abstract
This dossier examines the public use of anti-Francoism in Spain and anti-fascism in Italy, as well as the differences between these two phenomena in contemporary history. The articles explore the stages of the political and cultural use of anti-Francoism in Spain, from reconciliation during the Transition to the "Historical Memory" debates in the 21st century, and analyze the partisan resistance and anti-fascist memory in Italy. Additionally, the crisis of antifascist values in Europe is addressed, with a particular focus on Spanish and Italian experiences. The volume offers a critical comparison of both political cultures and their relationship with collective memory and policies of the past.
